How would i use the ls command to find all the filenames in my system that are five characters in length. I know ls ????? does it for the current dir, but how do i do my whole system?

yes, and yes. i would imagine it would be the recursive option, but when i use that, it takes the variable given and does an ls for all matching descriptions. so a ls -R / ???? will give me an ls for all folders with 4 characters in /. Im beginning to think its impossible and my book is retarded.
