Hi, I am battling with a connection sharing between a Linux bux running Mandrake 8.2 (connecting to the net via a US robotics external madem) and my Windows 98 computer linked via a lan.

I am able to set up the lan. I am also able to connect to the net, but after I run the connection sharing wizard, and try to log onto the net I keep on getting a "modem busy" message.

Any help would be appreciated

It sounds like you have the modem set as the gateway rather than your LAN card. Check out the settings I used in my post about Internet Connection Sharing. Use all the setting I used for my eth1 card for your LAN card. You'll get it, don't give up. It took me a week to figure this problem out myself. cool.gif
