I'm getting the following error when trying to install Netscape 7.2 on Mandrake 10.1

Gtk warning **: cannot open display:

any help?

D'oh, did it. Sorry for being such a n00b, if I'd have just tried it the easy way the first time around I would've got it done alot quicker. Just seems I got to toggle between the blackscreen and the KDE desktop alot just to do stuff that would be pretty routine for Windows. Seems like what I can do in mere minutes in Windows takes me all day to do with Linux. Anyways it would help alot if I could just log into KDE as root. If anyone wants to give me some pointers that would be great. I've gotten the cd, mv, rm, and rmdir commands down pretty good seeing as how I can only make, move, or rename files from the home directory while I'm on the desktop, and then only if they haven't been touched or altered by root.
