Do you want to use samba as a Primary Domain Controller or just for basic file sharing?

You need to change:
encrypt passwords = No
to
encrypt passwords = Yes

I cannot browse to the linux computer which is the Samba server. Thanks again

You need to add a samba user.

smbpasswd -a username

Then enter in your password (the user you add under smbpasswd needs to already be a user on your linux system).

Retart samba, and then try to browser.

Also, please verify that WORKGROUP is your workgroup name.
