Hey, my linux box is acting strange in the sense that for some reason it can't see any joystick I plug in. If i try to calibrate I get this:
$ jscal -c js0
jscal: can't open joystick device: No such device

If I try:
$ js_demo ( I get:)
Joystick test program.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joystick 0 not detected
Joystick 1 not detected
Joystick 2 not detected
Joystick 3 not detected
Joystick 4 not detected
Joystick 5 not detected
Joystick 6 not detected
Joystick 7 not detected
BUT if I try:
$ dmesg | grep Joystick (I get: )
input0: USB HID v1.10 Joystick [Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad] on usb1:2.0
So something on my machine is seeing it. I'm stumped... any ideas?
Thanks,
J
Unplug it, run tail -f /var/log/messages (as root) and then plug it in. It should say which /dev/ is assigned to it
