Yesterday Novell, the parent company of SUSE Linux, has announced the upcomming release of SUSE Linux Professional 9.3 due out in mid-April. As with previous versions, SUSE promises another quality release with the latest software with great documentation and support. The new version will feature the following:

- Firefox 1.0 Web Browser
- 2.0 Pre-release
- Novell Evolution 2.0 and Kontact 3.4 email clients and calendering systems
- Enhanced Laptop support for Centrino and Bluetooth technologies and improved WLAN and power management.
- Linphone Voice-over-IP solution for making phone calls over the web
- Gimp 2.2 for graphicals manipulation
- Linux kernel 2.6.11
- Many more features for the desktop user including built-in iPod support for managing your music within SUSE

SUSE Linux Professional is one of the few Linux distributions in my opinion, that improve drastically with each new release. They have constantly surprised me with the ease of use they bring with each release. The great thing about SUSE is that it's powerfull enough for the advanced user, yet simple enough for a new user to enjoy. Backed by the networking giant Novell, SUSE Linux Professional will promise a high-quality Linux experience for all users.

Also, please stay tuned for my upcomming review of Apress's Beginning SUSE Linux: From Novice to Professional book.
