Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

I have a dual PII that I would like to use for video capturing. I want to install some flavor of Linux on it but am not sure which to use. I also have a P1 that I want to put the same distro on as well. Are some versions of Linux more suitable to multimedia than others?

Well, Fedora isnt. RedHat removed all MPEG support from it.
