since upgrading from 8.0 to 9.1, I have been unable to boot. It passes the BIOS portion of boot up then I get a continual string of "01010101010101".........I can boot up the system from the CD. My hard drive is partitioned as follows:
hdb1 ext2
hdb2 swap
hdb3 Reiser?

Is it possible (and how) to re-install to get the system to boot without losing data in my home directory, such as
.xxxx files?
