well, recently applyed for universtity course which has a fair bit of linux orientated learning involved. So, i decided to try linux, went out brought a book, decided to download an iso.

I downloaded the DVD version of fedora, mounted on an image drive called DemonTools, and copyed the folders into a sub address in windows. From here i then copyed the files into a nero burning window, burned to DVD. All good so far.

How ever, i expected to reboot and find my self greeted with a nice linux install screen, but this didnt happen. Instead just the old (crap) unstable windows XP loading up.

Any ideas why my DVD wont boot (oh and yes, my dvd player/writer is set to boot from bios).

any help will be most welocmed,

You can not create a bootable CD by just copying the files and burning. You must use the create CD from image option.
To create a CD using Nero:
