I have just generated a RH 9 system and an X application
that runs OK on 7.2 now fails to establish a connection to
XWindows
/* connect to the display */
disp = XOpenDisplay (":0");
if (disp == NULL) {
printf ("Cant find displayn");
exit (-1);
}

Documentation I have does not explain what to do if
the null is returned - any ideas??

May be they have changed the function format,with the newer version of X.

So,you should check with the manual,before porting the program to the new configuration.
