I am trying to get Apache 2 to load on boot up of my Redhat Linux 9. I did not use the rpm to install Apache. I did it from the binary. Thanks for the help

Hi,

first type this into the console

chkconfig --list | grep httpd

then it will show (hopefully)

httpd 0:off 1:off 3:off 4:off 5:off 6:off

then type

chkconfig http on

do

chkconfig --list | grep httpd

mine shows

httpd 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 5:on 6:off

yours should say this to

Sincerely
Robert B

ps.: do think about updating to CentOS 3.3 , Red Hat 9 is way back...
