My Moniter (NEC) after so long of my computer sits idle it goes to sleep mode i cant find the power controls in the control center Im using SuSe 9.2 any help is appreciated

Hi,

search a bit in Yast2, also you can access that feature I think via the Power Options or the Screen Saver option (maybe).

or turn of apmd

/etc/init.d/apmd stop

that is Advanced Power Management
man apmd
for more info

You mighty also have power mangemanet setting in your BIOS, try pressing "del" when your computer boots to ahve a look
