I have installed and got BIND running on Fedora Core 2. It will lookup domains without a problem, provided I am doing it locally.

When I try and lookup domains from another machine the request times out (error when using nslookup).

I have set up IPTables to allow port 53, but it is still not working.

Any help would be appreciated.

[Edit] I have just turned off the firewall, and I can now lookup domains on my server - but as you can imagine - I do not want my firewall off! Any idea what I need to add to iptables? [/Edit]

Can you please show me the iptables firewall script (or set of commands) you used? Can you please show the output of iptables -L?

Perhaps you're allows only TCP or only UDP, and need the one you're blocking (or both).
