i compiled a new kernel (2.4.x) and everything went smoothly...after compilation, i configured grub and rebooted my computer with the new kernel, my problem is that, the new kernel stops booting and just freezes...what could be the problem...i'm thinking that maybe i configured it wrong using make xconfig...can anyone give me a working configuration or some pointers to look after so that it will work properly... biggrin.gif thanx

During the bootup process, the system should be outputting information to the screen. At what particular point does it freeze at? It will probably say something liek "Starting blahblahblah....."
