When i first installed Mandrake 10.1 it would use a nice graphical interface for logging in. Now when i first start up my pc it just goes directly to shell login and then i have to startx does anyone know how to return to the default?

You need to edit the default run level in /etc/inittab

So open up the file /etc/inittab and change this line.

id:3:initdefault:
to
id:5:initdefault:

Save it and you're ready to go.
