I am trying to follow this guy's instructions...

http://home.gagme.com/greg/linux/fc2-tips.php

...so I can actually use some multimedia software with FC2, but i keep getting the following error...

An HTTP error occurred:
URL: http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fedora/2/...ers/header.info
Status Code: 404
Error Message: Not Found

I am assuming that there is a conflict with one of the files that he had me modify. ... and even though I changed the "1" in the hyperlinks to a "2" as he advised, but i still get the 404 error. sad.gif

Here are the current contents of my yum and sources files...

"/etc/yum.conf"

### this describes the various package repos up2date will look into
### for packages. It currently supports apt-rpm repos, yum repos,
### and "dir" repos

### format is one repo entry per line, # starts comments, the
### first word on each line is the type of repo.

### the default rhn (using "default" as the url means
### use the one in the up2date config file
#up2date default

### When a channel-label is required for the non up2date repo's,
### the label is solely used as an internal identifier and is not
### based on the url or any other info from the repo.

### an apt style repo, this time arjanv's 2.6 kernel repo
### format is:
### type channel-label service:server path repo name

#apt arjan-2.6-kernel-i386 http://people.redhat.com ~arjanv/2.5/ kernel

### Note that for apt repos, there can be multiple repo names specified
### space seperated.

### an yum style repo
### format:
### type channel-label url

yum fedora-core-2 http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedo.../$ARCH/os/

hopefully someone who knows what they're doing will take a few mins out to review these and see what's going on. in addition... if anyone knows of any easier ways to download/install the necessary packages for using multimedia such as DVDs and playing MP3s please post it. thanks in advance! smile.gif
