I am new to the linux thing. I have a Pentium MMX 200MHZ with 32MB Ram and a 80GB HD. I was thinking of either Redhat or mandrake. It will be a file server for a small home network. Please let me know. thanks.

32MB of RAM is not enough for the latest versions of RedHat or Mandrake. I suggest Slackware.

Even if you had the top of the line PC, I ould suggest Slackware... it is the simple essence of Unix and Linux. It gives you everything without the crap. Gentoo is good, but Slackware is the best.
