Is there any way you could mount and unmount floppies and CD-ROMs using the GUI.

Thank You

I know KDE has it, I will figure out if GNOME has it.

In KDE just pull up the desk top configuration menu either off the desktop (usually right clicking) or from the Control Center.

In the Control Center go to Desktop|Behavior than the "Device Icons" Tab. Same thing if you pull it up right off the desk top.

Than, check the "Show Device Icons" and choose those you want to show. You can than mount and umount using those icons.

I logged into my GNOME system and i am noticing that having the drives on the desktop apears to be the default setting. So if you useing GNOME, and you don't have them, let me know and I will try to figure it out, for now, I am just going to asume your using KDE.
