i recently installed Mplayer on redhat linux 9.whenever i play video files(.dat , .mpg ,VCD) i can hear only the sound ,there is no video.
i have a geforce fx graphics card with generic drivers.also i am unable to turn on hardware acceleration in the Display option.
plz help

You will need to install the kernel-source package and the Nvidia drivers.

Then you can set the video type to xv for mplayer.
