Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

Hi i am trying to re write this file ( /etc/xinetd.conf ) but when i try to overwrite it with the changed version it just comes up permission denied how do i allow my self access i have the admin password and everything to

You need to be logged in as root to edit files in the /etc directory.
