Hi to all,
i have an on board sound cardand a pci sound card both of which appear in control center and have drivers installled but niether work.

When i boot up i get this..... alsactl : save_state : 1061 no Soundcards Found
can't open /root/tmp/asound.state.tmp : No such file or directory
Setting mixer settings alsactl : load_state : 1134 No sound cards found [ failed ].

when KDE loads i get this message.........Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such file or directory)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

any ideas what this means and how i can get sound to work would be much appreciated.

Thanks dfb8
