Hi Ive just ventured into the linux age.
Ive had mandrake 8.2 for sometime now and have just got round to trying it on an old pc lying spare.

All goes well until the monitor config. stage.
I dont see the test page. The default monitor it picks out is not the monitor connected, a compaq p50

When i let the install finish i cant get back to the config page as the monitor does not come to life. It just clicks as if the power is being shut off.

Where do i go from here?

dont test the config, just skip it. If it doesnt work after you reboot to your fresh linux, run XFdrake. Do NOT boot to X please... it will save us all some pain and suffering
