I'm looking at this:

...and wondering if it will be compatible with Slackware 10.0. Basically I need a new CD burner because my current one (a "JustLink") is absolute trash and not compatible with Linux.



Actually, if you have any recommendations on a cheap, reliable, and compatible CD burner I'd appreciate it. DVD isn't required, just thinking I might salvage it from this old box sometime.

Almost any ATAPI/E-IDE CD-RW or DVD+-RW is compatable with Linux.

I am personally using this one right now:

I really like the smart-burn feature...I haven't made one coaster yet in Windows or Linux.

The one you listed is also good and should work as well.
