hello,
I have configure a DNS in my machine LINUX redhat AS3 wich I have configure DHCP in it prevesiouly, I start the service name succesfully, and I try to ping my name machine but it doesn't work (host not found), so I can ping my machine with it IP address!!!!

Are you talking about a DNS client on the machine ... or are you trying to make this machine be a DNS server to control a zone? Normally, you would set your individual computer name in the file /etc/host.

If you are trying to setup this machine up as a DNS server, I have a guide here. For RHEL 3 AS you can't use yum to install packages ... use up2date instead.
