Alright chaps. Wondering if you could help me. Ive just finished putting my new machine together as follows:

AMD ATHLON 64 3200+
2 X 512MB DDR 400
200GB WESTERN DIGITAL IDE HDD 8MB CACHE
ATI RADEON 9800 PRO GFX
SHUTTLE SN85G4 SILENTX BOX
ETC ETC

Now I have come to install Redhat, and I get the following error followed by a system freeze:

hda host protected area =>1
crc error<6>
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 01:03

Exactly the same occurs when trying to install Mandrake. Whats going on here? I havent had any joy installing XP Pro yet either. So Im OS'less until further notice, PLEASE HELP!!

Cheers
