I installed RedHat Linux 7.3. After the installation I booted the machine. When I boot up it takes me to the command line interface. When I tried to launch the GUI it said that a monitor can't be found. I installed RedHat on a Toshiba Satallite laptop. I'm not familiar with most Linux commands, so please be specific about any instructions relating to the command line. Thanks in advanced for your help.

The problem can be fixed if you have horizontal and vertical frequency ranges for your monitor.
you can configure x-window from command prompt using command xf86config.

But you are trying quite old version of Linux why don't you use something new that will automatically recognise everything on your Laptop.(Like Fedora COre-2,Mandrake-10)

Thank you for your help. I will give it a try. The reason that I am using Red Hat 7.3 is that the CD came in a textbook of mine. I also tried Fedora and attempted to burn the installation discs for Fedora 2. I don't have alot of experience with burning iso images so I gave up.
