What would the recommendation be for anti-virus software for Mandrake 10.0 Which works the best, has the latest updates and is something I can download from the net-if possible is a free download. Thanks for any info![COLOR=blue]

Hi,

for linux you don't need antivirus protection, unless it's connected to some other windows computer which might store some infected files in let's say samba shared drive , which would still not affect linux...only windows.

but if you wan't something free and really easy to install (like I do smile.gif ) and it's even rpm and has cool updates and works from the console and is still easy to use, www.google.com bitdefender and on the website look for the free linux version or linux version of bitdefender

Sincerely
Robert B

i thought about mentioning clamav because i also use it to scan my emails along with f-prot,
but i not quite sure exactly how often the virus definitions get updated....or course i could
check my logs but havent thought about that at the time i was to mention to use clamav.

thats why i didnt mention it..

I just looked at my logs ... the clamav virus signatures were updated 5 times in the last 7 days...
