Can anyone help my son please? We have just loaded version 9.1 onto his machine but have encountered a small problem loading the driver for his printer. When trying to print for the first time with a brand new Linux and brand new printer, we selected the option to load the driver for the printer from within the word processing application. The system asks for a user name and password. We have entered these very carefully, but the system rejects them. Is the problem that you have to have root access to load a new driver? That is, does the user name have to be "root" or "administrator" or what? Can an ordinary user load a driver or do you have to have special access? I guess the answer is probably very simple, but it elludes us at the present. Can anyone help, please?
