Does anyone know why I cant hear any sound when I try to play cds in kscd? My soundcard is onboard sound its an intel 82801DB AC'97 controller and the i810_audio module... I dont think its a hardware problem because i can hear the test sounds no problem... also I cant rip cds, maybee the cd player? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Playing audio CDs with Kscd requires an audio cable between the sound card and the CDROM drive. xmms is one linux application that can play CDs via without the audio cable.

Since W2K and XP hand audio CDs via digital audio extraction so new PCs do not include the audio cable anymore.
