I have a 40 gig hard drive i want 40 for windows 20 for backup and 20 for windows i want to know which os should be installed first and what configuration to use using mandrake 10 and windows xp


also i am not that technical i want to install apache anyone has good instructions for a beginner

It is easier to install XP first then linux. If you desire to share files between the two OS's then I would create an extra FAT32 partition. When installing XP make sure you leave unallocated space for linux.

i did that, anytime i boot i choose windows from lilo and my computer says error lloading os

can you boot into linux?

if so, that means that your Lilo settings for booting Windows are wrong;
