Where is a good place to start learning Linux, both GUI and Terminal side?

I have a wireless card, Buffalo WLI-CB-G54A and see that there isn't a driver for Linux yet. Where can I go to learn how to write a driver?

Thanks for the input.

Chris

I should have phrased my second question better. What language are drivers written with? Will c++ work?
