Hello People,

Okay, well I just installed Whitebox 3.0 on it, and it's working ok, execpt the integrated sound card (this cases have integrated speakers as well on both sides...).

when I issue the command lspci -v this is what comes out ( I can't see that sound card anywhere , but there is gotta be one, I just picked it out from ten others like these, which also have integrated sound card + speaker).

any ideas what to do here ? I tried opening the case, but I can't find the onboard sound cards chip, most of the chip labels are not readable, but it's there in the bios...so it's gotta be there on the motherboard....

Sincerely
Robert B

Hi,

the audio card is :

" The serial number provided (8831BXH20866) indicates that this is a Deskpro EN Series Desktop (DPEND P300/3.2/32/NT EUROA2).

The audio originally shipped with this system is Embedded ESS 1869 16-bit, full duplex audio, and an internal 40 70 mm oval speaker. "

A ESS 1869 16-bit ... why isn't this autodetected? , this used to be quiet a common sound card in the old days... no?

Can anyone tell me what could I possibly do to get it working ?

Sincerely
Robert B

Probably not auto detected (or in lspci) because ... it might be ISA.

Make sure that in the bios, sound is enabled.

Then what happens when you run Soundcard detection from the system tools menu.
