Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

Hi everyone... im very new to linux and am having a problem getting my WLAN adapter(WUSB 11 ver 2.6) to work. every time i even boot linux its freezes when it sees that its there. However i can unplus it and Mandrake will boot just fine. I was just wondering if someone can give me a step by step process of what i should do.

If you have another LAN adapter, I recommend that you upgrade to the latest kernel via this guide ... then try the USB adapter.
