sad.gif I am new to linux. I am trying to install Mandrake 8.2. My computer boots from the CD rom and i get the linux menu to press F1 or Enter to continue.

It doesn't matter which mode i start up in, it is giving me the error message, it cant find an installation CD.

Could someone anyone give me a some guidance on what i am doing wrong.

Sounds like you got a bad cd, ensure that it downloaded correctly and was burned off correctly. Also, check and make sure that the cd you are booting with is actually the first cd of the release (Mandrake releases something like 3 isos for each release, or more).
