I was wondering if anyone can give me a hand with this.

::Current Setup::
I have a Fedora Core2 server setup and it is running with Nagios on our internal network, I am currently relaying mail (with sendmail) through our internal mail server to inform our Help Desk of any failures.

Problem is if the mail server goes down we don't get informed.

::Perfered Setup::
I would like the Fedora server using sendmail configured to email out without using a relay, it does not need to receive any email just be able to send out email, this way if our mailserver goes down we still receive the alerts.

How is this done, is it possible to setup sendmail without a relay or do I need a seperate application?
