Hi,

when I share something in samba, and want to allow access to it to only Denis, then I only need to do the following ?

1. adduser denis
2. passwd denis
3. smbpasswd -a denis
4. in smb.conf file where the share is shared
I add the line valid user denis ? (I'm not sure )

and then it would allow only denis, and because I created a passwd for denis it will ask for a passwd right ?

(by the way, win98se supports encripted passwords since I was able to login to that half working PDC , which I gave up since you told me that your next guide will be that (and you know a thing or two better then I do), so win98se,win2000,win98 and winxp pro should all support encripted passwords right? )

Sincerely
Robert B
