I'm thinking about offering users free @linuxhelp.ca email accounts (either through webmail or an email forward to your existing mail account).

I'm just trying to get a feel if anyone would use this/want this.

Let me know (feel free to PM me)

So I've been thinking about this for the last few days and what's the best way to go about offering such a free service.

So I'm basically thinking of either doing the following 2 things... please comment and help me decide.

1) A free @linuxhelp.ca email forwarding account. Mail sent to this account will be filtered for spam/virii and then forwarded to whatever email address you like (for example, you@gmail.com)

2) A free @linuxhelp.ca email mailbox. Mail sent to this account will be filtered for spam/virii and then stored on
the linuxhelp.ca mail server. You can then access your email **via webmail only** at http://webmail.linuxhelp.ca. In addition to this, the webmail interface will contain some sort of banner advertisement, most probably the google ads like you see at the top of the page today. Also, if we do go this route, I cannot guarantee 100% uptime.

All spam, anti-virus and attachment filtering will be done by MX Logic (http://www.mxlogic.com). Their product rocks, has a great interface and catches a ton of spam (just ask duende). Users will receive a quarantine report of all emails tagged as spam etc.

Anyways let me know what you think.

===EDIT===

Also, there's a 3rd option, but I doubt anyone will like this one.

I can offer an outsourced @linuxhelp.ca address that has pop3 access as well as webmail, with 99.9999% uptime guarantee as well as the spam/virii solution for a flat fee. The mail server is hosted at an IBM facility in Toronto, Canada and is totally redundant. I have no idea how much it would be but it wouldn't be too expensive... maybe 20-30 cents a month. Payment would be made via paypal.

=== EDIT #2=====

Also, would you rather have @linuxhelp.ca or linuxhelp.net
