I have never used nor installed Linux before. I have made an install floppy but it says that my cd's aren't mandrake install cd's. I downloaded Mandrake 9.2 and burned it to 3 cd's. Is there a particular name I need to call them so they will be recognized?

did you just copy the Mandrake ISO onto the CD or did you actually make the CD from the ISO? The ISO isn't a file, its like a zip archive of all the files that go onto the disk. You have to burn the disk with a program that reads the ISO and makes the disk in the way the ISO tells the program to. Here, look at this and try burning the disks again.
