I've been struggling to get a box configured with php under Apache.. (PHP ver. 4.3.6 & apache 1.3.23) all on Redhat 2.1

When I browse to a known working PHP file, I get the response "FATAL ERROR: Root directory in configuration file probably incorrect."

The apache code I'm running is straight from the RH distro RPM and the PHP I downloaded and make'd. I have no idea which root directory is being referenced as I compared the php.ini I am using with a RH8 box I have successfully running and the directory directives on the RH8 box look the same.

Can anybody point a hapless newb in the right direction?

Ells
