Ok I nabbed a copy of SuSE 8.1 professional before buying and I'm glad I did. It's been nice on my workstation but my laptop screams in agony at installation attempts. So far, the only way to boot the installation is using CD2 to boot Yast2 as CD1 and the DVD just error out at the ramdisk. Now that I've gotten Yast2 to load and get cranking, the Software selection lists "No base selection available ERROR: no poposal". Anyone else finda way around it? Can't even get it to base install and it's something specific to the laptop but 8.0 instal worked liek a dream. Silly Germans keep changing everything .. heh heh
