I'm having great difficulty getting my installation of Redhat 9 to run in grahical mode instead of text mode on my Laptop. Here is my Laptop and its specs.. http://h50025.www5.hp.com/hpcom/nz_en/11_2...449_DS448A.html

being kind of a newbie, I am picking the problem is either with the graphics set, or the monitor, but how to fix it???.

Thanks.

Hi,

You need the Ati Radeon drivers from www.ati.com to make it work... check out this post : http://www.linuxhelp.ca/forums/index.php?a...t=ST&f=7&t=3070

.

There is another way, get Fedora Core1 which is stable with the latest updates [I've been using it for aprox 1 month by now as workstations. The problem is that RH9 is not supported by Red Hat anymore [If I'm right, It was April or May?]...

Sincerely
Robert B

Robert ... you are right. RedHat 9 support stopped 4/30/2004.

Ok thanks for that. Yes, I thought that may be the problem ohmy.gif

I'm only using Redhat because I'm a student and need to setup Bind/DNS server, and would like to have the OS at home here to practice on.

Thanks again.
