I accidently installed Red Hat 9 and said to boot in the graphics mode...I would prefer the system to boot in the command prompt (text) mode so that I can do most of my work there and just start the graphics mode when I'm browsing the web or needing something else which requires graphics....how do I get the system to book on the graphics mode? Thank you in advance!

Do this, except change the 5 in id:5:initdefault: to 3 ... so it looks like this:

id:3:initdefault:

then to start x ... type:

startx

from the console prompt...
