Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

How do I remove gcj from my system? I just want to use the standard javac compiler and runner from their sdk package but gcj keeps interfering and telling that awt is some sort of alien.mad.gif

Im at the point of tearing my hair out about this so please help.

Hi,

well you could start by

opening up a terminal window (or console)

any type

rpm -q gcj then

rpm -e the_full_name_reported_by_rpm-q_gcj

I think all the packages that provide gcj can be found with the command:

rpm -qa | grep -i gcc-java

you would then remove them as robert suggested...

rpm -e package_name
