Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

i'm running Fedora core 1.0 and have been having problems booting into the GUI a few processes fail they are :

sm-client : can not chdir(/var/spod/clientmqueue/): Permission denied
Program mode requires special privileges, e.g., root or trusteduser

NFS statd

Canna server: cannaserver: Initialize failed


atd : can't bind unix domain socket permission denied

Is this a new install or a new problem? If its a new intall, what are you using for graphics. And if its a new problem what have you recently changed or done? Also, can you boot to a command line and have things work, or is the entire system giving you trouble?
