Hello,

As far as I can tell, mod_auth_mysql is installed on my box with no problems. Yet when I log into a domain I set-up to test it, it fails to authenticate the login/password. I'm storing the password in plaintext in the mysql database. Here's my table:

CREATE TABLE user_info (
user_name CHAR(30) NOT NULL,
user_passwd CHAR(32) NOT NULL,
user_group CHAR(10),
PRIMARY KEY (user_name)
);

Here's my .htaccess file:

AuthName "Authorization Required"
AuthType Basic
AuthGroupFile /dev/null
AuthMySQLCryptedPasswords Off
AuthMySQLHost localhost
AuthMySQLDB (removed)
AuthMySQLUserTable user_auth
AuthMySQLUser (removed)
AuthMySQLPassword (removed)
AuthMySQLNameField user_name
AuthMySQLPasswordField user_passwd
require valid-user

I've logged into the mysql db successfully by hand. So, I know it's not a problem with invalid mysql info. I get no errors when starting apache... and no errors in my apache error log from the site.

Does anyone have any insight into what could be causing this?

Regards,
-E. Mathison

Even i have the same issue . It gives the 500 servlet exception error and gives and error in the apache error_log file:

[Thu Jan 10 06:25:35 2008] [error] [client ip] (9)Bad file descriptor: Could not open password file: (null)
