Hi

Im running Mandrake Linux 9.1, and im having problem with the NVidia drivers.
(GeForce 2 Titanium)

I make the needed modifications to XF86Config-4 (changing nv to nvidia), drop into text mode and run the install script, restart, when i try to start x, it says

Screens detected, none with usable configuration

If i edit the XF86Config-4 to be back to nv it works again

Any ideas?

Mike

Hi

You have downloaded the latest NVIDIA drivers from here ? : http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x...0-5336-pkg1.run

And went into init 3 [non X mode]
and installed it right?

like this :

[example : if you downloaded it to /home/nvidia]

1. cd/home/nvidia
2. chmod 755 NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run
3. ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run
4. then modifyied /etc/X11/XF86Config nv to nvidia
5. also remove DRI , wich can be found at the beggining of the config file Section "Module"

Sincerely
Robert B
