Whats this Lie-nix Thing?

I am now not getting any GUI interface with my linux. All the other consols are working but the GUI on is not. Can anyone help to solve this problem.

did you install x windows and either gnome or kde

if not you wont have any gui,

but if you have a login prompt, you first must
login and then type:

startx

to start the gui interface

oh and by the way, what do you mean by consoles,

like when you press ALT + F1 , ALT + F2, etc....

to change console screens?

yeah when I say consols I mean ctrl+ALT+F1 etc

are you in X when you try

ctrl + alt + f1

or are you in console mode
with just the command prompt?
