I think the versions here:
http://dag.wieers.com/packages/rhythmbox/

will play mp3's.

It might be easier to install apt to resolve the dependancies ... or just add Dag's Apt repository to up2date (for fedora code 1) like this (in /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources)

CODE
apt DAGs_APT http://apt.sw.be redhat/fc1/en/i386 dag

apt does apt repositories better than up2date in fedora (sometimes up2date can't calculate all the proper dependancies for apt repositories).

Thanks...
I have just downloaded that package..But rather I thought of a patch sort of thing..that could be applied to the existing installation of rhythmBox and i can play mp3 songs...

Hi,

Just get apt-get....and install Xine : http://apt.freshrpms.net/

it's good for playing mp3, and other multimedia types...

I use Xine for music

and mplayer for movies

Sincerely
Robert B

Well..there is a patch..i need not to install the whole package..
it is..gstreamer-mp3-plugin rpm(a 16KB file).

By installing the above file alone..one can play mp3 files on rhythmbox.
