Hi,

What is the name of the rpmbuild package?

I've tried download rpmbuild with yum like this

yum install rpmbuild , but it says no package is available by that name....

I would like to build a rpm from the open vpn 1.5 source

Sincerely

Hi,

Well I've found it, it's rpm-build

so the command would be yum install rpm-build...

[I wan't to build a rpm so that other software that may depend on OpenVPN packages will actually see that the OpenVPN rpm is installed , and it's there].

Sincerely
Robert B

Hi,

I have another problem

when I'm doing this : rpmbuild -tb openvpn.tar.bz

configure: error: OpenSSL Crypto headers not found.
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.37655 (%build)

RPM build errors:
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.37655 (%build)
[root@test1 home]# mc

but I've installed OpenSLL
like this
./config
make test
make install
[and it installed itself without any errors]

What am I missing here?

Sincerely
Robert B

Hi,

I've found out that I needed kerberos devel , I've checked it, I have that to...

now I did a updatedb
locate ssl.h

and found it at a few places...

tried again, and it congiured itself correctly...

the problem is

I'm following a guide on how to make a vpn connection with 2 bridges...

and it says that ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-pthreads --enable-mtu-dynamic
I've changed ./configure to ./config ....but it won't work this way , so I just used ./config hope this won't cause me any troubles...

Sincerely
Robert B

You can probably insall Dag Wieers' openvpn package on Whitebox....I would not install via yum, but download the rhel 3 package from here:

http://dag.wieers.com/packages/openvpn/

and try rpm -Uvh openvpn-1.5.0-0.rhel3.dag.i386.rpm
