i'm sorry i know this is a stupid question but i am very new to linux and am pretty much lost. i want to interface a ciscorouter through a linux computer.thats all,i just want to open a terminal and program myrouter through a linux machine. pathetic isn't it, so sorry.if you could tell me how to do this i would be so appreciative!!

Get minicom (Basically a linux HyperTerminal), and plug your router into your PC via your console port.

I found something that might help you:
